Lori Beth Johnson sang in the Girls’ Choir from 1994-1999. She graduated from Nardin Academy High School and earned her BA in Music and Spanish from Sewanee: The University of the South. She recently completed a Master’s degree in Spanish from Middlebury College. Lori Beth taught at a boarding school (The Webb School) in Bell Buckle, TN and then moved to Atlanta, GA, where she teaches high school Spanish at Woodward Academy. She has been a staff singer at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip since 2006, first singing 3 years with Bruce Neswick and since then with Dale Adelmann (both former choirmasters at St. Paul’s, Buffalo). She has taken a break from choral singing (after 21 years) but hopes to be back singing in the next couple of years.
Lori Beth married Jim Wiseman in 2009. Their wedding was in All Saints Chapel at Sewanee: Rachel Hezel and Laura Saetveit Miles sang in the choir. Dale Adelmann conducted the choir which sang the Lord’s Prayer from his set of responses that the Girls’ Choir took to England either in 1995 or 1998. Sally and George Hezel were also guests and Chris Scinta was the photographer. It was the greatest experience for Lori Beth to have so many of her choir friends participate in her wedding from different parts of her life: Buffalo, college and Atlanta.
